5 Great Protein Powders For Women In 2018

Studies have shown that protein supplementation can be one of the most beneficial factors for women who work out in the gym. Whether your looking to tone up or slim down protein assist in muscle repair and muscle growth while helping you see faster, better results. In a male dominated industry many women find that selecting the best protein to be an arduous task. I created this guide to offer an alternative opinion while helping you make an informed decision for the next time your out purchasing protein powder.

Here are my five favorite proteins (for women) currently available on the market.

1. Naked Nutrition, Whey Protein

If your looking for a protein with great taste but little to none of the artificial additives then look no further than Naked Nutritions Naked Whey. There are no artificial flavorings, sweeteners, or colors added into the protein and its gluten and soy free making this one of the most natural protein supplements on the market. Since this is a pure whey concentrate its great to be taken pre and post your workout. This whey contains 25 grams of protein, 2 grams of sugar, 3 grams of carbs, 5.9 grams of BCAAs, and 100 calories per serving. At a retail price of $89.99 per tub this isn't the cheapest option but it is one of the best. (@nkdnutritioninc)

2. PE Science, Select Protein

PEScience SELECT Protein is simply fantastic. It is a milk protein isolate which means it consist of mainly whey and casein which are known to produce better results than just your average whey. In addition to the whey and casein, other ingredients such as natural and artificial flavors, sucralose, and Leucine Peptides are included in the protein to help with the flavor and mixability profile. The addition of Leucine is most notably known to improve protein synthesis which helps the absorption of the protein into your body. SELECT Protein is known to have some of the best tasting protein drinks and I completely agree with all the hype. With flavors like Peanut Butter Cookie, Snickerdoodle, & Frosted Chocolate Cupcake you could only imagine how awesome they taste. When blended with milk the taste and consistency are that of a milkshake and in my opinion probably the best on this list. The retail price for this protein is $49.99 and at 24 grams of protein a serving this is some of the best protein your money can buy. (@pescience)

3. NLA For Her, Her Whey

https://www.bodybuilding.com/store/nla-performance/her-whey.html
Coming in at a whopping 28 grams of protein per serving Her Whey tops our list. Her Whey is full of essential vitamins and minerals needed to nourish and replenish your body, promote muscle growth, and increase recovery time after those long grueling workouts. At 190 calories, 6 grams of carbs, 2 grams of sugar, and 4.5 grams of fat this is the perfect dietary supplement for getting that lean body you always wanted. Her Whey is a great meal replacement alternative and is even better when used in recipes such as pancakes or muffins. This not only taste great but mixes really smooth and is easy on the body to digest. Her Whey is a simple whey isolate with some fillers and artificial flavoring but at $38.99 this is a great option for anyone looking for a protein on a budget. (@nlaforher)

4. Orgain, Organic Plant Based Protein

For anyone on a vegan based diet Orgain Organic Protein is a great option for you. This protein is stripped of all artificial flavorings and fillers and packed with tons of nutrients and benefits derived from a natural plant based diet. At 21 grams of protein this doesn't offer the most amount of protein per serving but it is the the most nutritional. Orgain Organic Protein is vegan-friendly, soy-free, gluten-free, lactose-free, and contains no GMOs giving those women with dietary restrictions a viable option. A 2 scoop serving provides 150 calories, 21 grams of protein, 4 grams of fat, and 5 grams of dietary fiber. Unfortunately most reviews say this isn't the best tasting protein and can be gritty at times so I suggest if your looking for a great testing protein that you look elsewhere. While retailing at $30 this is the cheapest option on the list and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a vegan alternative to those milk based whey proteins. (@drinkorgain)

5. Quest Nutrition, Protein Powder

Most notably known for their protein bars, Quest Nutritions line of protein powders stacks up amongst the best in the industry. Their wide variety of flavors is not the only reason they made our list but also because they taste drop dead awesome. With over 43 different flavors to chose from you are sure to find yourself in protein heaven. While theres only 20 grams of protein per serving this comes packed with lots of other nutrients to help your body make it through those grueling workouts. These proteins are gluten free, sugar free, and soy free while being only 100 calories per serving making it a really great low-calorie option and perfect for anyone whose dieting. At $44.99 a 2 Lb tub is a little on the pricier side but does supply you with about one months worth of servings. (@questnutrition)
